the universe John Wick just getting started. While the fourth film was released on March 22 at the cinema, the franchise led by Keanu Reeves is preparing to diversify. The first of these spin-offs will be the series The Continentalwhich has just unveiled new images.
Mel Gibson is Cormac
Expected in September on the Amazon Prime Video streaming platform, The Continental: From the World of John Wick will explore the origins of the infamous hotel for assassins in the universe of John Wick. The series will notably tell the adventures of young Winston Scott in New York in the 1970s.
A good movie — and a good series — owes a lot to a “good” villain. That’s good, since The Continental can count on the iconic Mel Gibson (Braveheart, madmax, The lethal Weapon) to play the role of Cormac, king of the New York underworld.
These images also give us a new look at Colin Woodell as Winston Scott, a role played by Ian McShane in the cinema, and Ayomide Adegun as a young version of Charon. The character is portrayed by the late Lance Reddick in the films.
Created by Greg Coolidge, Shawn Simmons and Kirk Ward (the series wayne), this three-episode mini-series is directed by Albert Hughes (From Hell, The Book of Eli) and Charlotte Brändström (The Rings of Power).
In addition to this series, the John Wick franchise is preparing its 5th and 6th films, and a spin-off titled Ballerina — starring Ana de Armas — is already scheduled for release in 2024.
The Continental premieres September 22 on Amazon Prime Video.
