German police announced on Wednesday June 3, 2020, that they are investigating a new suspect in the case of little Maddie McCann, who was abducted in May 2007 from a hotel in Praia da Luz in Portugal. On July 21, 2008, the Portuguese ministry closed the Maddie case without follow-up. Since that day, several other avenues have been considered, without ever proving conclusive. But on Wednesday June 3, 2020, AFP announced that German police would be investigating a new suspect. The suspect, Christian Brückner, is said to be a sex offender who has been convicted several times. He is currently imprisoned for another case.
Paris Match, reveals freezing testimony in its last issue released on June 18. We discover the words of people who have worked with Christian Brückner. In 2014, he ran a refreshment bar at Braunschweig, opposite a school. The magazine explains in its investigation into the Maddie affair: "The guardian is surprised that some children arrive with candy, toys. Gifts from Christian!" Christian Brückner justified himself at this time: "I always have a little box full of little presents "
Then there is the testimony of Lenta, who works in a store near the refreshment bar where the main suspect worked. She tells the newspaper Bild-Zeitung : "There were a few of us giving our opinion on the matter. Christian wanted us to stop talking about it. He seemed freaked out. He almost shouted: 'The child is dead, that's all.' Then he added that it was possible to make a corpse disappear, adding that pigs also eat human flesh. "
And that's not all. Christian Brückner would have declared to his girlfriend at the time, before Maddie's disappearance: "I have a job to do in Praia da Luz. A horrible job but I have to do it, this must change my life. You won't see me for a while." can we read on the DailyMail. If the case dates back 13 years already, these absolutely chilling revelations could well advance the investigation.
