The Crowded Room: Emmy Rossum (Shameless) joins the series with Tom Holland

According to the American site The Hollywood Reporter, Emmy Rossum has just added her name to the cast of the series “The Crowded Room”. She will give the reply to Tom Holland and Amanda Seyfried.

Available in ten episodes, all directed by Kornel Mundrunczo – director nominated for the Oscars for the film Pieces of a woman in 2021 – this series presented as an anthology will center on the theme of mental disorders, specifies The Hollywood Reporter. Emmy Rossum will play the role of the mother of Danny Sullivan (Tom Holland), a woman “who dreams of finding a man capable of saving her”. Amanda Seyfried will play Rya, a clinical psychologist who finds herself facing the most difficult case of her career who must also juggle her professional life and her status as a single mother.

Scheduled to air on Apple TV+, The Crowded Room is billed as an anthology that “will explore the inspiring stories of those who have fought and learned to live with mental illness.” This first season is inspired by writer and producer Akiva Goldsman’s own life and the biography The Minds of Billy Milligan, written by Daniel Keyes in 1981.

No known date yet

For viewers enticed by the prospect of discovering all these talents together on screen, patience is in order. The project is only in its development stage at Apple TV +, and no release date has been mentioned.

The schedule will also depend on Tom Holland’s busy schedule. While the film Uncharted has just been released in cinemas, the actor is announced to be showing a biopic centered on Fred Astaire, one of the biggest stars of Hollywood’s golden age. He should also put on the Spider-Man costume again for a new installment of the adventures of the spider-man planned for Sony.
