The event series “The Crown” is back in the fall for a fifth season with new performers. Discover the release date and the very first teaser!
This is one of the most anticipated series of the fall: the fifth season of The Crown. Netflix’s special event, TUDUM, has revealed the first images and the release date: November 9th. In the – very short – trailer, viewers get to see the faces of new Diana and Charles, played by Elizabeth Debicki and Dominic West.
The very dark teaser shows them getting ready for a TV interview. In this season 5, the drama around the relationship between Diana and King Charles III will be at the center of the plot. The last episode should feature the death of the Princess of Hearts in Paris.
In front of these images, it is impossible not to think of Queen Elizabeth II, who died on September 8 at the age of 96. It’s a safe bet that the Netflix platform has chosen not to show images of the queen to respect her recent disappearance. In this new chapter, actress Imelda Staunton – the Dolores Umbridge of the Harry Potter franchise – will portray the role previously performed by Claire Foy and Olivia Colman.
