The Crown: Season five won't be released until 2022

The longer filming break of "The Crown" has nothing to do with the corona pandemic. It should not continue until June 2021.

Fans of the Netflix series "The Crown" apparently have to wait until 2022 before the fifth season of the series goes to the penultimate round via the British royal family. As the industry portal "Deadline" reports, the shooting of the successful series will only continue in June 2021. The shooting break is part of the production calendar and has nothing to do with the corona pandemic.

When is season four coming?

But fans still have to wait for the fourth season of "The Crown". Although it is already in the box, a precise release date is still pending – observers are expecting the release shortly before Christmas 2020. Fans will then plunge into the period up to 1990. Gillian Anderson (51, "The X-Files") will appear as Margaret Thatcher (1925-2013), Emma Corrin (24, "The Missing") will play Princess Diana (1961-1997).

The Left Bank Pictures studio produces "The Crown", Imelda Staunton (64, "Downton Abbey") plays Queen Elizabeth II in the last two seasons, taking over the scepter from Olivia Colman (46, "The Favorite").
