Finally. For the years that fans have been clamoring for his arrival on a SVoD platform
, Firefly lands today on Disney +.

The perfect opportunity to (re) discover Joss Whedon’s cult space opera, almost spoiled by Fox.

Firefly : finally a place to board the Serenity

If, at Clubic, we had to establish a selection of the best space opera-type series (which is going to happen in a few days, luck does things well), Firefly would be quietly on the podium. But, as we noted in our review, the Fox series has so far been hard to come by. Finally, until today, since Disney + had the good idea to finally offer the series to its catalog.

Consisting of 14 episodes (and the concluding film Serenity, to find on… Prime Video), Firefly is one of the first creations of Joss Whedon (Buffy, Avengers…). If the man has since been denounced by several women for his behavior on certain shoots, the fact remains that the show carried in particular by Nathan Fillon, Gina Torres, Morena Baccarin, Alan Tudyk or Adam Baldwin deserves to be seen.

Broadly speaking, the plot follows a crew that multiplies odd jobs that are not always legal to survive and escape the power in place. Full of heart, dialogues and memorable passages as well as characters all the more endearing than the others, Firefly is a series to see, quite simply.

Firefly

  • You like space opera and, why not, the western?
  • You appreciate lovable and well-written characters
  • The stories of hero crews in spite of themselves, it speaks to you
  • You’re not ready for a series that ends abruptly (but there’s the movie to wrap it up properly)
  • The show is visually too old for you
  • You have no heart
