In 1992, The Cure celebrated a great success with the album “Wish”. 30 years later it appears again – including unreleased songs.

30 years after it was first released, The Cure are bringing back their successful album “Wish”. That gave the band on your website such as on their social media channels known. The anniversary edition will be released on October 7th on CD, deluxe CD and vinyl.

According to a press release, it contains the complete original album, which was remastered at Abbey Road Studios. There are also 24 previously unreleased tracks. In addition to demos and instrumental versions, this also includes four songs that will appear on CD and digital platforms for the first time.

Frontman Robert Smith: “Wish came true”

The Cure frontman Robert Smith (63) describes listening to “Wish” again according to “New Musical Express” as follows: “There is one side of the album that I had kind of forgotten. A very gentle, longing thing that is very beautiful.” After publication, however, he noticed an error in the recording. The fact that he could no longer correct it “really annoyed him for a long time”. Now he had the opportunity to solve the problem. “It took 30 years, but finally, finally my wish came true,” said the singer.

He named “To Wish Impossible Things” as his favorite song on the record. It is “a beautiful, melancholic piece”. In addition, the title “‘Trust’ is one of the best pieces we’ve ever done”.

The Cure have been in the music business for over 45 years

The Cure formed in 1976 under the name Malice and changed their name to The Cure in 1978. Over the course of their career, the band has released 13 studio albums and singles such as “Friday I’m In Love”, “Boys Don’t Cry” and “Just Like Heaven”. It currently consists of founding member and vocalist Robert Smith, as well as bassist Simon Gallup (62), keyboardist Roger O’Donnell (66), drummer Jason Cooper (55) and guitarist Reeves Gabrels (66).
