We have seen, but we have also looked. Let’s go on the trail of the release date of Lupine, of which Netflix released some clues today. Some sleuths have already made good progress.
The French series with Omar Sy is one of Netflix’s huge successes. Season 3 (or “part 3”) of Lupine is logically highly anticipated. Although it was always planned for 2023, the release date remained secret. The SVOD service has just revealed it. Well, more or less.
On the Twitter account by Netflix Francethis April 19, we find an advertising sign displayed in a Gaumont, where we can read ” Lupine Part 3 will be released on — / — / 2023 “. In short, the date is not actually displayed. Likewise on the netflix global account : “ Lupine doesn’t want you to know part 3 premieres — / — / 2023 “.
On the image in English, however, a small number wanders around: at the very bottom of the panel, we can read the number 10. This is a first clue, but clearly insufficient: it could be the 10th of any month or simply place the date in October.
Look in Netflix profile pictures
To find more specific clues, you have to dig a little deeper. Go directly to the platform, in the profile photos section (in “Edit profile”). Scroll down to Lupin’s section—the 20th section, normally. There, the photos have changed. Each displays a number and the last an exclamation mark.
Okay, so what to do with these numbers? They form, a priori, a date. Three combinations are possible:
- 10/05/23 (May 10, 2023)
- 01/05/23 (May 1, 2023)
- 05/10/23 (October 5, 2023)
October 5, 2023 seems unlikely: it is a very distant date. Netflix never communicates on a program so late in the year, a fortiori by making such a move on social networks beforehand. That would be somewhat absurd and incoherent. Which leaves us with two more likely dates: May 1 and May 10.
Two indices play in favor of May 10:
- The number 10 displayed on the sign of one of the Twitter accounts.
- May 10 is a Wednesday, where May 1 is a Monday. Netflix very often releases new content on Wednesdays, much more rarely on Mondays.
We are therefore betting on a release of season 3 of Lupine May 10, 2023. But perhaps other clues, still too well hidden for our eyes as neophyte detectives, can definitively confirm this date – or invalidate it.
