The Day Before: big postponement and deletion of the Steam page, the developers explain themselves

Two years ago, the editor MyTona and the developer Fntastic unveiled The Day Beforea MMOs survival inspired by The Last of Us and The Division. A title obviously highly anticipated at the turn, first on PC then on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and after months of waiting, we were to see the end of the tunnel on March 1st.

But here it is Fntastic just announced the postponement of The Day Before to November 10, 2023 on computers. A hard blow for the players, but the reason is comical to say the least. The developer Explain that, when the game was announced in January 2021, the trademark “The Day Before” was free, but it was registered in the United States a few months later… by a certain Sun Jae Lee, who did not absolutely nothing to do with Fntastic neither MyTona.

Eh yes, the studios do not have the rights to use the name The Day Before in the United States, but they only discovered this problem on January 19thwhen Sun Jae Lee contacted Fntastic to complain about the use of its trademark. And there is the avalanche of problems: Steam has blocked the game page, the studio is forced to delay the release of its next video of gameplay and above all to postpone the launch of The Day Before.

And now ? Well, Fntastic assures him, he will try to find out how this problem could have occurred and will especially discuss with Sun Jae Lee. The Day Before has been postponed for several months and may even change its name by then, a matter to be monitored of course. Otherwise, you can find Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 at €8.99 on Gamesplanet.
