According to the election management, complaints about the coercion of citizens are increasing in the vote on Russia's new constitution, which is supposed to secure power for Vladimir Putin. There have been 105 communications so far about possible pressure on voters to cast their vote, central election commission chief Ella Pamfilowa told Interfax agency in Moscow on Saturday. 75 of these complaints should be taken seriously. The election officer had criticized the fact that there were many anonymous complaints and then asked the citizens to do it officially.
President Putin recently warned against forcing voters and beautifying the results. The result must be "absolutely reliable and legitimate". As of Saturday, the turnout, according to Pamfilowa, was 19.49 percent. That was more than 21 million votes. For a total of six days, 110.5 million eligible voters can take part in the referendum. It ends on July 1st.
