There are often runaway cattle or horses, but the police in Darmstadt had to deal with a more exotic runaway: one antelope escaped from the circus. The 160 kilogram bull was reported to the officers by several road users who discovered him on a street, the police said. By then the antelope had already "trotted on" and a little later reached a railway line that was closed in the meantime. With the support of animal rescue finally managed to catch the antelope. To this end, the animal was given an anesthetic twice, whereupon it could be carried into a transport cart in a dazed state.
