On October 1, 2017, Laura Paumier and Mauranne Harel, both 20 years old, were murdered in front of Saint-Charles station in Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône). She was preparing to take the train back to Lyon when she was murdered. “We learned through Google that there had been an attack in Marseille. Immediately, I knew it was her. I felt it.”
Pascale Harel calls for concrete measures to be taken
Laura and her cousin Mauranne were killed by a man who should not have been on French territory. Six years later, Pascale Harel is angry because she feels that nothing has been put in place. “I want something concrete, I want it to change. I don’t want it to happen again. I hope that people who should not be on the territory are not there.”she once again launched, like a cry from the heart, on France 2. A few days after the anniversary of her daughter’s death, she was once again very affected by the assassination of Professor Dominique Bernard in front of her high school in Arras, October 13, 2023. “What happened to him should never have happened. It made me relive the same thing.” Today, Laura’s mother has chosen to leave France to settle in Spain, hoping to find peace that she is no longer able to feel in the country where her daughter died.
