Italian Prime Minister Conte wins vote of confidence
In Italy, Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte won the vote of confidence in the House of Representatives. He received 321 votes and 259 MPs opposed him. The non-party Conte had asked the vote of confidence after his governing coalition collapsed in the dispute over the EU's corona aid on Wednesday. The decisive vote in the Senate, the 321-seat upper house of parliament, is due on Tuesday. Conte is likely to miss an absolute majority there.
