The day: Mountaineers are allowed to climb Everest again

Mountaineers can climb Mount Everest and other mountains in the Himalayas again in autumn. You can now apply for permits. The Ministry of Tourism in Nepal closed the mountains to tourists in spring due to the Corona crisis.

The money of mountaineers from abroad is important for Nepal, one of the poorest countries in the world. You have to pay a fee to climb Everest and other high mountains. In the main season in spring with the best weather conditions it costs the equivalent of 9400 euros for Everest and 4700 euros in the autumn season. Climbers usually spend tens of thousands of euros on the entire expedition.
