  • Most holders of a hunting license live in North Rhine-Westphalia with 92,074 hunters, followed by Lower Saxony with 60,000.
  • In relation to the number of inhabitants, Schleswig-Holstein is ahead, there are 8.3 hunters for every 1000 inhabitants. In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania there are eight, in Lower Saxony seven and a half.
  • According to the association, the number of women hunters has also increased. A quarter of the participants in hunting training are now female – and the trend is rising. With seven percent of all hunters, women are still clearly in the minority when it comes to hunting.
