The delirious program of Aymeric Caron

IThey are still eight. Eight anti-speciesist candidates to wear the colors of La France insoumise in the second round of these legislative elections, eight members and executives of Ecological Revolution for the Living (REV), a party founded by the most media-friendly of radical ecologists, journalist and essayist Aymeric Caron. The latter, in favorable tie in the 18e district of Paris facing the outgoing deputy Pierre-Yves Bournazel (Horizons), could well be the first elected from his training in the National Assembly. The seven other REV candidates will probably, despite their good scores in the first round, have a lot of difficulty winning due to insufficient vote reserves.

If the eight candidates for the Ecological Revolution for living organisms are not labeled REV, it is because the micro-party founded by Aymeric Caron joined the popular union of La France insoumise before the constitution of the Nupes (New popular ecological and social) and are therefore not the subject of a public agreement as was the case with the PS or EELV. The REV candidates therefore bring to this election the Nupes program (in its Insoumise version) and not the program in favor of a “metaphysical ecology” which can be consulted on their website. Nevertheless, the program is worth a look: end of fishing, end of hunting, end of meat, end of pesticides, end of nuclear power, end of borders, 28-hour week, cap on monthly income at 40,000 euros, “any income exceeding this threshold will be taxed at 100%”, introduction of a compulsory vegan alternative in canteens… So many proposals that will make the program of La France insoumise look like a warm water tap .

Anyone who wants to change the world begins by changing the language: in the REV program, animals are referred to as “sentient non-human animals”. Driven by a vision that breaks with what they call “superficial ecology”, the anti-species activists of REV are venturing into territories that most Western political parties have not dared to approach for a long time, in particular on the idea that only the “control of the world population” would make it possible to “save biodiversity”. Other ideas such as the gradual abandonment of borders and “global nuclear disarmament” are part of an equally dated pacifist tradition.

Conspiracy

Among the REV candidates labeled LFI is notably Azelma Sigaux, who defends the colors of Nupes in the 2e constituency of Haute-Loire, in an unfavorable ballot with 19.52% of the votes cast. In charge of communication for Aymeric Caron’s movement, this activist who claims to “participate in the construction of a better, more altruistic world”, was recently singled out by the conspiracy observatory Conspiracy Watch for her ambiguities with anti-Semitism. . His father, manager of the anti-Semitic humorist Dieudonné, had participated, disguised as a deportee, in the presentation of the “prize for infrequentability and insolence” to Holocaust denier Robert Faurisson in December 2008. being the daughter of her father who is reproached to Azelma Sigaux – no one is responsible for her origins – but the defense she makes of the latter in a text affirming that he had “never been anti-Semitic and never has moreover expressed no remarks which could qualify him as far right”, despite an obvious companionship.
