There is a good chance that the release of the stable version of Android 14 will be rolled out tomorrow on compatible Google Pixel smartphones.
The development of Android 14 started several months ago on Google’s side and the launch of the stable version is said to be about to take place. Mishaal Rahman, a well-known mobile OS expert, shared some information about it in a Telegram group.
Tuesday, September 5, 2023 would thus be the date on which Android 14 would arrive in stable version on the following Google smartphones: Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 5a, Pixel 5, Pixel 4a (5G) , as well as the folding Pixel Fold.
Some clues about the release of Android 14 (stable)
Screenshot in support, Mishaal Rahman explains that ” UP1A.230905.019 is likely the build ID for the upcoming stable Android 14 release for Pixel phones. Googlers as well as Android Trusted Testers recently received an OTA to this build, which includes the September 2023 security patches“.
However, if we look carefully at the numbers of the ID in question, 230905, we can assume that it is a date: 05/09/2023. Mishaal Rahman further claims that he had already identified this deadline as the potential release date.
“This build ID is also mentioned publicly by a Googler on the Issue Tracker, and someone (probably a Googler) posted screenshots of the OTA/post-build info on a Facebook group“, we also read in the message of the expert.
Note that it will probably take a little longer for non-Google Android smartphones to take advantage of the stable version of Android 14; models compatible with the beta in the first rowa priori.
