To support the victims, professionals or individuals, the tax administration is setting up a “fire unit” by telephone and promises “a plan of support and fiscal benevolence” for the victims.
Are you one of the victims of the many summer fires? Since Friday August 19, individuals and professionals facing destruction or financial difficulties following the passage of the flames can contact the “fire unit” of the Directorate General of Public Finances (DGFiP).
“Following the major fires that occurred this summer in France, the Minister for the Economy, Finance and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty and the Minister Delegate in charge of Public Accounts asked the DGFiP to implement a “fire cell” and a support and tax benevolence plan for the benefit of individuals and companies who are victims of these fires, ”explains Bercy in a press release.

Individual victims are invited to dial the 0809 401 401, usual non-surcharged number taxes concerning them: since August 19, fire victims contacting this number are directed to a dedicated “fire cell”. Bercy insists on the possibility of requesting ” benevolent measures [fiscale] (in case of financial difficulties). The DGFiP may also consider “ possible reductions (in the event of destruction or lasting damage to the value of the goods)”.

Professionals are invited to dial 0806 000 245 and agents from the DGFiP or Urssaf will respond to their requests – for example for subsidies – specifies Bercy.
This announcement by the DGFiP follows statements by the Minister of Public Accounts Gabriel Attal in an interview with Dauphine Libere dated Monday August 15: in order to “limit the economic and financial consequences that the French people concerned will have to suffer”, Gabriel Attal promised the establishment “by next week” of a fire unit at the DGFiP “in link with the Urssaf”, this unit being in charge of setting up “a kind of tax buffer”.
