the diary of two sisters facing the war

Every week since February 24, 2022, the date of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Olga and Sasha confide in a diary published by M The magazine of the World”.

Olga is 35 years old and is a wine merchant in Paris, where she has lived for seven years. Sasha, 33, lives in kyiv with her parents and grandmother. From the start of the war, the two sisters write about their daily lives, one worried and powerless in the face of the danger that threatens her family, the other stuck in a life punctuated by warning sirens that warn the population of possible bombardments.

To tell this war and the feelings that go through those who suffer from it, the journalist Elisa Mignot helped the two sisters to shape their diary and accompanied them during this year.

All three are the guests of this episode of the “L’Heure du Monde” podcast. They recount their daily life, the weariness, their anger vis-à-vis Russia, but also the hope, the rediscovery of their identity and the incredible resilience of the Ukrainian people.

An episode of Garance Muñoz. Music and production Amandine Robillard. Presentation and editor-in-chief: Jean-Guillaume Santi.
