the digital certificate arrives on April 6

From Monday 6 April, a travel certificate may be used in digital format.

It is complicated for many French people to print travel certificates. The government will therefore set up the possibility of presenting this document on its laptop as soon as April 6. Christophe Castaner, the Minister of the Interior, wishes to bring "a little flexibility"to the system with this"digital certificate in addition to the paper device".

It will be possible to complete the certificate directly on your smartphone. A document available at the same address as for the paper version, on the site www.interieur.gouv.fr.

"We can edit the form, from our smartphone, in order to present it to the police with a QR Code", explains the politician.
This paper downloaded in PDF format, from a smartphone, can thus be presented to the police. By giving your information (identity, reason for leaving, date and time of the trip), the site will generate a QR code.
"There will be no file. No one will be able to collect user data ", underlined Christophe Castaner.

The state did not wish to set up an application to avoid any hacking or data collection, said the minister.
"This system is also built to fight against fraud: you will have to specify your exit time, but the time at which you edited the document will be accessible to the police."insists Christophe Castaner.

No contact

Scanned by the police during a possible control, the code will allow them to access the certificate. A definite advantage: no need to take the smartphone in hand, which avoids contact.

The police have carried out six million checks, according to a final count, and issued 380,000 reports since the establishment of containment. "We have seen a slight decrease in tickets, but it is not dramatic. Overall, the rules of confinement are well respected, even if we feel a difference depending on the sociology of certain neighborhoods", remarked the minister. He recognized however that he was"even more difficult"to respect confinement"when you live in a group in 50 m2 in a neighborhood, than when you are lucky enough to have a pavilion with a garden".
