For the past few months, Ubisoft has shown its desire to make its licenses accessible to as many people as possible. This involves free-to-play productions, but also mobile ports. After Rainbow Six, The Division is coming to phones, with Resurgence. This is an opus totally designed for the mobile platform, independent of the two games we already know, but anchored in the story told since 2016, since it is considered canon.
To make it short, The Division Resurgence is a 3rd person shooter / RPG and will offer us a new story, new enemies and new factions. We will be here agents of the “Strategic Homeland Division” (SHD) and our mission will be to protect the civilians of New York and restore order for a better future. Ubisoft also specifies that the gameplay which made the success of the franchise will be well preserved, while ensuring that the experience is intuitive on this medium.
For the moment, the studio has only mentioned solo or cooperative PvE modes, without mentioning a potential PvP mode, or multiplayer components. It is likely that The Division Resurgence leaves PvP aside, to facilitate the arrival of new players. Gameplay will be presented to us soon.
Obviously, the characters can be modified / improved with equipment, to be unlocked over the missions. Weapon specializations and abilities can also be added, with the aim of finding the combination that suits you best.
No release date has been announced for The Division Resurgence., but tests will be organized soon. Its launch will be free-to-play.
