The main character of the Doom franchise could be one of the next Fortnite skins from another video game universe.

This is not the first time that the rumor has appeared. Especially since Fortnite is the specialist in collaborations of all kinds, and we have already seen it in previous seasons which have seen many crossovers with characters from comics, films or video games. After making a foray into Fall Guys, the Doom franchise could arrive in Epic’s Battle Royale.

According to the insider Jeff grubb interviewed in the podcast of XboxEra, a Doom Slayer skin is expected to arrive in the in-game store soon. The reason is simple: the publisher is currently in discussions with Microsoft to import several of its franchises. The shooter was rebooted in 2016 with the help of Bethesda, owned by Xbox Game Studios and parent company of the historical designers of id Software. The tuning should be done quite easily, Microsoft having already loaned the assets of its Halo franchise in the past.

However, if the man seems certain of the veracity of this information, the timeframe for implementing this partnership is uncertain. For some skins, it took a few months (cuckoo Naruto) before an officialization in the game. Doomguy’s arrival might only land in the next Chapter 3 season which has just started.
