The dream ship: Sina Tkotsch follows in Nick Wilder's footsteps

Sina Tkotsch becomes the new ship doctor on the "dream ship". The actress replaces Nick Wilder aka Dr. Sander.

On Boxing Day it's time to say goodbye: Actor Nick Wilder (67) will play Dr. Sander can be seen on the "dream ship". A replacement has already been found. "In the episodes that will be broadcast on Christmas 2020 and New Year's 2021, Sina Tkotsch will take on the role of ship's doctor," said a ZDF spokeswoman when asked by spot on news.

The 30-year-old actress has worked in numerous film and series productions. From 2014 to 2017 she was part of the crime series "A Case for Two". ZDF did not want to comment on whether Tkotsch will continue to play the role of ship's doctor in the future. The broadcaster will not announce the content and cast of the episode that will be broadcast at Easter until a later date.

Harald Schmidt is not on board

What is certain, however, is that in addition to Florian Silbereisen (39), Barbara Wussow (59) as hotel director Hanna Liebhold and Daniel Morgenroth (56) as first officer Martin Grimm will be on board again. "Harald Schmidt cannot take part due to scheduling difficulties," the broadcaster said. The presenter embodies cruise director Oskar Schifferle in the series.

Filming in December

Shooting will start in Emden from the beginning of December on board the ship, which will therefore not leave the port. The scenes on land are filmed in the Maldives. In view of the corona pandemic, ZDF is observing "the current situation and legal provisions at the respective locations intensively and working together with the production companies on appropriate hygiene concepts for the shooting."

ZDF will broadcast "The Dream Ship: Cape Town" on December 26th. On January 1, 2021, "The Dream Ship: Seychelles" continues.
