(Reuters) – The European Central Bank (ECB) should refrain from further raising interest rates, French Minister of Economy and Finance Bruno Le Maire said on Friday in an interview with Bloomberg TV.

“I don’t see the need to go further,” said Bruno Le Maire, who was attending the Eurogroup meeting in Santiago de Compostela, Spain. “We are on track to reduce inflation.”

“Enough is enough!”, he added.

The ECB raised interest rates for the tenth time in a row on Thursday in the face of persistent inflationary pressures, signaling however that this cycle of monetary tightening was probably coming to an end.
