The electric car which “recharges” in less than 3 minutes will arrive in France for less than €30,000

The boss of Nio for France has just confirmed the arrival of electric cars for less than 30,000 euros in Europe. They will be compatible with battery exchange stations, which allow a “recharge” in less than three minutes. First model to arrive in France: the Onvo L60, to overshadow the Tesla Model Y.

A Nio battery swap station

For the moment, Chinese electric cars from the Nio brand are sold in certain European countries, but not in France. This will soon change, because we know that the brand will launch in France. We were able to try the Nio ET7, an electric sedan with a range of more than 1000 km on the Chinese CLTC cycle, and we were impressed. Especially when we know that it is possible to stock up on electrons in less than 3 minutes with the famous battery exchange stations.

The good news of the day comes to us from Reuters, who quotes Nicolas Vincelot, the boss of Nio for France. The company is not currently present commercially in France, but it is actively preparing its arrival. We do not yet know if we will have the right in France to models from the Nio brand, or rather those from the two other, more affordable brands: Onvo and Firefly.

An electric car for less than 30,000 euros

The Onvo L60 is expected to be unveiled in the coming days in China. It will arrive in Europe by the end of the year, and we can imagine that it will be sold in France. It is supposed to cost less than 50,000 euros, to come and fight against the Tesla Model Y.

The other good news is that the company executive confirmed that a second electric car was planned, for 2025 this time. The sale price is announced at less than 30,000 dollars, or around 30,000 euros. It will not be an electric car sold under the Onvo brand, but under the future Firefly brand. All Nio, Onvo and Firefly electric cars will be compatible with battery swap stations.

Onvo L60 (leaked)

At the moment there are not many in Europe (around 40), but there are more than 2,400 around the world, especially in China. Cars can also be recharged with more traditional terminals, but the charging time is much longer, beyond 30 minutes.

We do not yet know the technical characteristics of the Onvo L60, but the first images have made the rounds on the web in China, which allows us to see what it will look like.
