the electric pickup gets noticed in Silicon Valley, despite its camouflage

The Cybertruck is making ever more frequent trips to the streets of Palo Alto. Is this the sign that its design is final?

Is the Cybertruck finally ready to go into production? That’s the question for residents of Palo Alto, California. Indeed, in recent days, the 100% electric utility vehicle from the Texan manufacturer has been making more and more frequent outings. Impossible to miss, despite its camouflage, even before being marketed, the car is already iconic. Members of Twitter shared videos of the vehicle in the streets of the town of Silicon Valley.

Engineers applied camouflage pattern paint to the vehicle. The scheme obviously did not deceive anyone, and for a few days now, videos of the Cybertruck in military uniform have appeared on the networks. Beyond this original outfit, fine connoisseurs of the vehicle have no not noticed any change in design. The SUV still sports as angular a body as possible, with a one-piece molded structure, triangular mirrors and that massive single-spoke wiper.

The videos revealed on the web do not tell us anything about the bowels of the vehicle. Yet this is where Elon Musk’s company seems to encounter the most design problems. While the CEO had announced that production of the Cybertruck would begin in June 2023, it seems that serious problems are delaying this deadline even further. According to an internal report that leaked earlier this month, the multiple production delays of the highly anticipated electric utility vehicle are due to mechanical problems engineers can’t solve.

Tesla must, however, hurry to launch its production lines if it wants to honor the more than 1.5 million pre-orders it has already recorded. Even if the Cybertruck is the most anticipated car in the worldbut it’s unclear whether buyers will all be willing to wait several years to get their hands on its yoke steering wheel.
