The PlayStation 3 is now more than 15 years old, quite an age for a console. Sony has been phasing out support for the PS3 for the past few years, but the end of the repair service in Japan seems to be the real end of the PS3.
PlayStation 3: Sony discontinues support
In Japan, support for the will end on April 30, 2022 PlayStation 3. Sony announced that the last supported model and other PS3 peripherals can no longer be sent to the repair service.
