Want to switch to Prixtel? Be aware that the alternative mobile operator has switched to eSIM. The change is therefore simplified.
The eSIM, you know? eSIM stands for Embedded SIM. It is a technology present on relatively recent smartphones that allows a smartphone to do without a physical SIM to be inserted in order to be able to connect to the network and make calls.
Concretely, you don’t have to wait to receive your physical SIM to take advantage of your new plan, which simplifies changing mobile operators. We can also say that it is a good technology for the environment. Indeed, it requires fewer resources than the physical SIM (plastic, on-board electrical components, shipping, recycling, etc.).
Until now, the eSIM is not as present as one might have imagined, the four main French operators offer it, but it is not highlighted. It must be said that it is a technology present especially on high-end smartphones from Apple, Samsung and Google mainly.

The eSIM at Prixtel
From now on, Prixtel will also offer the eSIM. This alternative operator only offers it, for the moment, for customers who wish to keep their number (with the RIO number). The eSIM will be activated the day their line is ported to Prixtel.
To take advantage of the eSIM, all you have to do is download your QR code in the Prixtel customer area, section Lines > Info and documents.
Note that current subscribers can also switch to eSIM by ordering a new SIM. However, the activation fee is 10 euros, or 5 euros if you have been a customer for more than a year. So check beforehand that your smartphone is compatible, otherwise you’ll be throwing money out the window.
