What’s new in standalone/PCVR this week ?

  • Walkabout Mini Golf – DLC Atlantis :

Mighty Coconut presents its new Atlantis-DLC offering you to immerse yourself in the famous submerged city. The additional content will be released on January 26. and is advertised as both difficult and spectacular:

This DLCs is the starting point for a new tariff increase (understandable given the quality of the content offered), count more than an extra euro to take advantage of it, in other words, new additional content will now cost €3.99 while old ones will keep their price (€2.99).

For those who missed the boat, don’t forget that the courses Myst, Labyrinth or 20000 Leagues Under the Sea are already out. At last, remember that if you are playing with friends, it is enough that one of your friends has the DLCs so that you can join it, without having bought it yourself.

Walkabout Mini Golf is available (at a very good price) on the Meta Quest Store (€14.99), on Steam (€12.49), as well as on Pico 4 (€14.99) but beware, this latest version does not yet have the courses DLCs ! Also know that vYou can’t since Meta Quest Store apply your personalized coupons (OCULUS20/OCULUS30) for the purchase of additional content and that Mighty Coconut still does not offer a pack grouping all or all of its DLCs At a reduced price.

Good news for owners of the latest VR headset from ByteDance, the team beefknown for its numerous ports (Return To Castle Wolfenstein, Doom 3, Quake III arena…) has just announced the compatibility of Quake first of the name on Pico 4.

You will find theAPK of the release shareware (the first 10 levels included) here. The game has not yet been approved by Side Quest but rest assured, it’s only a matter of time.

  • Meta Quest 2 & Pico 4: Morrowind, Quake 4 and Star Wars Battlefront II :

Decidedly, the team Beef don’t rest, after the article above, we presented to you last week the announcement of the porting of the engine Raze (Duke Nukem, Shadow Warrior…) in autonomous VR (see article), here are the three most anticipated games (following a survey) are preparing, if possible, to be worn on our autonomous headsets: Morrowind, Quake 4 and Star Wars Battlefront II.

This time, like Quakemaybe they will not only be available on Meta Quest 2. The team Beef however, tempers the ardor of hardened fans, recalling that, although the team recognizes the quality of the 3 aforementioned titles, it wishes above all to evaluate the possibility of porting!

When it comes to Morrowind, the team is considering using Open MWa motor open source that can reproduce the game engine, while giving the possibility of extending its capabilities, and in the case that interests us, playing in VR. On his page Patreonthe team said:

In the case of OpenMW, we will contact their team to announce our intentions and learn more about what is in development. We know there’s an ongoing PCVR branch that’s slowly being merged into the main thread and an Android version that was dropped last November. Luckily, the VR branch bears similarities to the work we want to do for Morrowind.

We need to make sure there isn’t already a standalone VR version planned so we don’t step on the main team’s toes. Also, we want to double-check the “deal” they have with Bethesda to make sure a standalone VR port isn’t going to bog the project down.

Regarding Quake 4, the team will start with this one since it is a relatively easy to port gamemore than Battlefront II and much more than a Morrowwind. Speaking of the latter and if you are not in a hurry, and you have a VR-Ready PC, know that a PCVR mod already exists, with multiplayer support, but beware, its installation is not within the reach of the first comer (see link).

OhShape change its title to OhShape Ultimate and offers us a free so-called “definitive” update. As a reminder, OhShape is a game of fitness where walls come rushing at you and the only way not to hit them in the face is to go through the pre-cut shapes. Pico Store Week of 16

At the house of picowe have some very good titles, even good surprises. We start with safe values such as The Room: Dark Matter (€29.99), a must in VR for those who like at least Escape Room and puzzle/adventure games.

We continue with the mysterious Attack on King (€9.99) which offers a clever mix between a tactical shooter and chess. In the safe bet category, we also have Puzzle Places (€14.99), ideal for all those tempted to decompress by connecting photogrammetrically recreated scenery using puzzle pieces. A title as exotic as it is stunning, we highly recommend it.

To remain original, we have Vault of Stars (€9.99) in early accesswhich does not offer an incredible lifespan (this may expand over time) but which in return brings a one-of-a-kind visual and sound experience. This is an adventure game where you accompany a golem in solving puzzles. The game being short, wait all the same to see what this title has to offer you in the coming months.

Wave your blade in dance (€2.99)a Beat Saber like but without Saber (you have it ?), we advise you not to buy it. And then there is Primal Hunt (€29.99), a Monster Hunter like which still divides the community todaywhether that of pico as Metaif you want to get a glimpse of it, we have here a dedicated live.
