The euro accentuated its losses against the dollar on Tuesday, disconcerted by the prospect of a reduced gas supply while the European Union agreed to limit its consumption.
The idea that the euro zone will have to wean itself off the pain of Russian gas, at the risk of plunging the economy, caused the euro to lose 1% to 1.0119 dollars, around 12:25 GMT.
