The decoupling of greenhouse gas emissions from growth is unfortunately a utopia, even if it remains an objective of the sector. All the airlines and the International Air Transport Association (Iata), the sector’s international lobby, are counting on a dissociation based, 100%, on the use of new techniques, such as e-fuels (fuels of synthesis), SAFs (sustainable aviation fuels), the hydrogen plane or electrification, while none of these technologies can be deployed on a scale….
