The Fantastic Four: the director reveals the shooting date of the Marvel film

WhileAnt-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania arrives on our screens on February 15, Marvel is already working on the future of its MCU. Among the next productions, the reboot of Fantastic Four is eagerly awaited. Its director has just revealed its shooting date.

Speaking to our colleagues at The Wrap, director Matt Shakman (Wanda vision, The Boys) has thus revealed that the filming of the film will start at “beginning of the year 2024”a year before its scheduled release on February 12, 2025.

Unfortunately for the Trekkies, Shakman had to step down from star trek 4 to tackle the Marvel movie: “I had a great time working on star trek for a little over a year. […] But movies have different dynamics and processes […] and when the opportunity Fantastic Four came up, it was just too hard to pass up and not come back to Marvel, where I worked on WandaVision”.

“It really is a family there and […] it’s a pleasure to tackle something that I really love. star trek And The Fantastic Four are similar in many respects: they were both launched in the 1960s […] and it’s also a question of family: the family you have, and the family you create”he added.

First appearing in 1961, the comic book series The Fantastic Four was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. This superhero team of Mr. Fantastic, the Invisible Woman, the Human Torch and the Thing is one of the most popular in the Marvel stable.

THE Fantastic Four have already experienced several (painful) film adaptations, in 1994, 2005, 2007 and 2015. If Reed Richards (Mr Fantastic) has already appeared in the MCU in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnessportrayed by John Krasinski (The Office, Jack Ryan), it is expected that the main roles will be played by new actors in the future. Rumor has it that Dev Patel (The Green Knight) is reprising the role of Reed Richards.

This reboot of Fantastic Four is an integral part of Phase 6 of the MCU, which begins in September 2024 with Deadpool 3and will end in April 2026 with Avengers: Secret Wars. Here are the details of the announced films from Phases 5 and 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe:
