The first funds from the December aid flow

Companies and the self-employed that had to close in December due to the lockdown are now receiving their first funds. Companies can count on up to 50,000 euros, the self-employed up to 5,000 euros.

The Federal Ministry of Economics has started paying out stop payments for Corona December aid. These are advances on later grants for the companies concerned and the self-employed. Business associations had repeatedly expressed criticism of the slow implementation of the aid.

Companies receive down payments of 50,000 euros, solo self-employed up to 5000 euros. The federal government had decided on the billions in aid for companies from the catering industry, for example, which had to close their business operations since the beginning of November due to the partial lockdown. With the extension and expansion of the closings in December, the aid was also extended.

Sales losses of up to 75 percent compared to the same month last year are reimbursed. In the case of bridging aid III, which covers the funding months from January, fixed operational costs such as rents and leases are reimbursed. The federal government justified this with the immense costs of the November and December aid.

Nationwide platform

The maximum amount for Bridging Aid III was increased from 200,000 euros to 500,000 euros. This maximum grant is planned for companies that are directly and indirectly affected by closures.

The application is made via the nationwide uniform platform of the bridging aid. Tax consultants, auditors or other third parties can submit applications for the company there. Self-employed people who do not apply for funding of more than 5000 euros can apply directly with their Elster certificate.
