While this simple message had generated a wave of comments from her fans, thanking her for being honest and showing the behind the scenes of motherhood, Serena Williams has just done it again.

This Monday, January 1, 2024, the 42-year-old mother published on TikToka video of her with her baby in her arms. In the caption, she sums up her year candidly: “My year 2023 was synonymous with the arrival of a baby. After having a baby, it’s a bit like you’ve been hit by a bus. Not just your body, but also your mind. Here’s 2024! It’s time to get my mind and body back!”.

This isn’t the first time Serena Williams has spoken out about the importance of mental health. Already in 2018, she dedicated her second place at the Wimbledon tournament to mothers around the world. “I dedicated it to all the moms who have been through a lot. Some days I cry. I’m really sad. I’ve had crises. It’s been a really tough 11 months. If I can do this, you can do it too” she declared in reference to her return to the court, after her first pregnancy.
