The government is determined to fight against fake health passes. While the Ministry of the Interior has estimated their number at 182,000, the holders of this false vaccine document could soon face very heavy fines. Currently set at 135 euros, the bill could well be multiplied by ten, according to information from LCI.
From the first breach, the fixed fine could be set at 1,000 euros against 135 euros currently. As for people providing fake health passes, they risk up to five years in prison and 75,000 euros. What to discourage more than one. “We wish to be very dissuasive,” confirmed an adviser to the executive at LCI.

The toughening of sanctions for false health passes could be proposed, on the sidelines of the presentation in the Council of Ministers of the bill to transform the health pass into a vaccine pass, Monday, December 27. This text will be examined in committee at the National Assembly on Wednesday, then in the Senate on January 5, for it to enter into force on January 15.

Monday, December 20, Place Beauvau had reassessed the number of false health passes at 182,000. The office of the Minister of the Interior had indicated that “these are not estimates”, but indeed proven cases of fraud, according to several investigations carried out by the police. If these 182,000 false health passes are proven, this suggests “that the number of false passes is actually higher”. This figure “will have to change”, then said the authorities.
