The Fires of Love deprived of sex: why the actors no longer have intimate scenes in the soap opera on TF1?

Currently in “The Fires of Love” on TF1, the inhabitants of Genoa City keep a good distance from each other and no longer share kissing or sex scenes. But why ?

The Young and the Restless is a soap opera well known for its romance scenes. Between passionate embraces, languorous kisses and naughty moments, the inhabitants of Genoa City regularly (and easily) give in to temptation and the pleasure of the flesh.

Filming during the Covid-19 pandemic

However, for the past few days, TF1 viewers have noticed that the carnal contact between the characters no longer appears frontally on the screen… But why do the heroes of the American daily stand now so far from each other?

On the sets of the cult soap opera, hygiene rules and strict barrier measures had therefore been put in place.

Give the illusion of intimate scenes…

Thus, the comedians of the Fires of Love (the series is actively preparing for its fiftieth anniversary) had to remain at a good physical distance from their partners when boxing their sequences, in order to avoid a possible spread of the virus among the teams. . To circumvent this problem, the screenwriters of the fiction then had to find parades to give the illusion of sensual moments taking place between the protagonists… For example, close-ups were made on the faces of Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Phyllis (Michelle Stafford), just before a movement of the camera suggests that he was advancing towards his beauty to kiss her and then satisfy their desire…

Fans also spotted another aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic on The Young and the Restless (where a Love, Glory and Beauty star made her debut). The latter have indeed noted that Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki) wore a wig at the time of the resumption of filming, in order to avoid a false hair connection with her scenes recorded before confinement…
