Fans of the Apple brand ecosystem can rejoice, this keynote will only be a taste of what Apple is preparing this year.

Apple’s first major keynote in 2022 will be held on or around Tuesday March 8, reveals Bloomberg. This will be a fully online conference.

Timid evolution for the iPhone SE and iPad Air

The news agency indicates that the star product of the event will be the new generation of iPhone SE, which should take the same design as the old model launched in spring 2020, but have a more powerful chip (the A15 iPhone 13 Bionic), 5G compatibility and better photo sensors.

Another device planned will be the new iPad Air, but don’t expect the 2022 version to revolutionize the range. Bloomberg only mentions an update to the SoC and support for 5G.

Finally, a Mac equipped with an in-house chip (M2?) is also under construction, but its presence at the March 8 keynote does not yet seem certain. Let us add that the sources of Bloomberg explain that a month before the announced date, changes of direction can still take place, in particular if difficulties are encountered on the production lines.

iOS 15.4 at the same time as the iPhone SE 2022?

We also learn that Apple is targeting an iOS 15.4 rollout for the first half of March. The update will bring Face ID the ability to recognize faces wearing a mask. New emojis are also expected, as is the universal control feature, which allows simultaneous control of a Mac and an iPad with the same keyboard, mouse or touchpad.

Also according to Bloomberg, 2022 could be one of the busiest years in Apple’s history in terms of hardware product launches. iMacs, Mac Pros, MacBook Pros, Apple Watches and AirPods are also expected to be announced this year, not to mention the iPhone 14s.
