the first big DLC soon to be revealed? The fans are panicking

Diablo 4 has started its season 2, but some players are already looking to the future. Particularly towards the first expansion, the contents of which seem to have been revealed.

Diablo 4 has just begun the hostilities of its season 2, entitled Season of Blood. On the program, vampires to slay and big new features for players. If the launch was a little messy, Blizzard has since rectified the situation, and we can now fully enjoy it. That said, some fans have been more curious than others, and they seem to have discovered several pieces of information regarding the first expansion planned for the new opus.

Diablo 4 secrets discovered

As noted by the media WccftechBlizzard deployed in its test branch a version 2.0 of the technical alpha build of its game. It was of course private, but that did not prevent a few people from using the data mining looking for a scoop to reveal to the community. The YouTuber YbuBaKa then reported all these findings and we can say that they discovered a most interesting detail. We learn in particular that the first paid expansion for Diablo 4 should be called “Lord of Hatred”, or Lord of Hate in French.

The existence of this DLC is not a big surprise. In fact, the developers had already explained that they planned, as far as possible, to release one extension per year. However, the studio may be waiting for BlizzCon which will take place from November 3 to 4 before revealing it in broad daylight. Dataminers didn’t see it that way, and so we have a lot of details to sink our teeth into. It is obviously appropriate to take all of this with a grain of salt since this is not an official announcement.

What content for the DLC?

The story of this DLC would focus on Mephisto, a demon who is none other than the big brother of Diablo and Bhaal. He is also the father of Lilith, the main antagonist of Diablo 4. This expansion would take us to the lands of Kurast, a region that we find in Diablo 2. This would not be the only homage to the second iteration of the series. For good reason, a system of mercenaries who would have to be increased in experience would be back, like a system for manufacturing corrupted runes.

Finally, a new class would make its debut in Diablo 4: Spiritborn, which would be focused around nature, a bit like the Druid. Aside from the theme that could surround the latter, we do not have any additional details concerning it. In any case, it is a paid extension which promises to be rich in content, and dense in terms of storyline. Dataminers even go so far as to describe the arrival in the game of raids. It would be a good way to diversify the experience. That being said, we must take a step back from this information and not forget that these are, at this stage, unconfirmed rumors. We may have the end of the story at BlizzCon 2023.
