Rockstar played it discreet. SO that we were talking about the probable publication of information on the next GTA todaythe studio just released a tweet announcing the upcoming arrival of a trailer for the game.
It’s official. In a relatively terse email and tweet, Rockstar Games announced that the first images of GTA 6 would be released next month. Without fanfare, the studio simply stated that it would put online “the first trailer for the next Grand Theft Auto» at the beginning of December, on the occasion of the studio’s 25th anniversary.
GTA V, already a phenomenon trailer at the time
Those who were waiting for a visual, a logo or even a release date will undoubtedly be disappointed to only have that to sink their teeth into today. However, let’s remember that, already in 2011, the game’s trailer had already caused a stir, accumulating 3.5 million views in four short days (a massive figure for the time). The release of images from a game that is so highly anticipated tends to be as much, if not more, anticipated than the trailer for a new feature film. In true Marvel fashion, Rockstar announces the trailer for one of its games.
The timing chosen by Rockstar, however, does not seem to be completely left to chance. On December 7, the Game Awards will take place, an international ceremony which recognizes the best video games of the year. Rockstar could therefore take advantage of the sounding board offered by the ceremony to advertise its new game… Or completely parasitize the event by publishing its trailer at the same time for its part, it remains to be seen.
The release date, a big unknown
Note incidentally that the GTA V trailer was published on November 2, 2011, a little less than two before the title’s release. If GTA VI follows the same trajectory, the title would therefore not arrive before 2025, a date that certain rumors had already mentioned.
There is no doubt that, as soon as the trailer is published, many fans will scrutinize every detail of each image in the hope of seeing a clue as to the release date of the game. The big ball of rumors, vague theories and other debates more or less peaceful on the Internet is therefore about to start again. To the delight of players around the world.
