Oppo recently won its case against Nokia, a significant victory for the company. However, the news is not as bright for French consumers. The reason ? Oppo, as well as OnePlus (which belongs to the same Chinese group as Oppo), saw their presence on the French market fade after the closure of their local reseller. So, although the company won in court, its new products are not available to French consumers.

Two smartphones that will probably not see the light of day in France are the future OnePlus Open And Oppo Find N3.

A promising OnePlus Open

Featured in an interview with Unbox Therapy, the OnePlus Open appeared as a twin to the Oppo Find N3, with the two devices only differentiated by their brand. Some details about the Oppo Find N3 Flip have already leaked, but until now nothing was official, not even its existence.

Mystery still surrounds a key component of these smartphones: an imposing round camera module, co-branded by Hasselblad, which the manufacturers have chosen to hide for the moment. These folding smartphones are therefore intriguing with their glass back, flat frame and a hinge allowing a foldable screen closure without visible space, giving the devices a modern and refined aesthetic.

The hinge in question is no small technological feat. Pete Lau, co-founder of OnePlus and current director at Oppo, revealed that the company has filed more than 600 patent applications relating to this component alone. A distinctive detail of the OnePlus Open is the alert slider, which allows you to easily turn off all notifications. A distinctive element of OnePlus smartphones.

While the Oppo Find N3 is expected exclusively in China, the OnePlus Open should be available internationally, with an official presentation scheduled for October 19.

Direct competition with Samsung

According to unconfirmed rumors, the characteristics of the two smartphones position them as direct competitors of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5. The OnePlus Open, in particular, would be based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, with AMOLED screens of 120 Hz, up to ‘to 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of flash storage.

Both devices feature a high-quality triple camera, with each camera equipped with a 50-megapixel 1/1.56-inch sensor for the main camera, in addition to a telephoto lens with 2.8x zoom, as well as a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera.
