The Forest is a must-play for survival fans. We’ll tell you here on GIGA whether the game is available on Steam and where you can still play it.

The Forest

With its mix of open world and horror survival, The Forest by Endnight Games has mutated into one of the most popular survival games since its release. In it, you take on the role of a plane crash survivor who sets out to find his kidnapped son on a cannibal-infested peninsula. The Forest is also special because it offers a closable storyline with multiple endings, which is unusual for survival games.
Until the follow-up Sons Of The Forest, announced for October 2022, is released, it is worth playing the first part (again). We’ll tell you if you can find The Forest on Steam and where the game is still available.

The Forest can also be experienced in multiplayer with up to eight friends. You can see what that looks like here:

Is The Forest available on Steam?

The Forest has been available on Steam since 2014. A lot happened in a four-year Early Access phase: the beta version of the game, which initially seemed rather inconspicuous, eventually became one of the best horror survival games of all time. Shortly after its official release for PC in April 2018, The Forest has already sold over five million copies, making it an absolute commercial success. You can currently get the survival hit on Steam for €16.79.
The Forest cannot be purchased on other platforms such as the Epic Store.

Where else is The Forest available?

A few months after the PC version, The Forest was released for the Playstation 4 and can of course also be played on the Playstation 5. The game is also well received on consoles: The Forest was among the top 10 most popular games in the PlayStation Store last year.
There you can currently purchase The Forest for €16.99.
