What is it about ?

After giving a concert at the Château d’Amboise, a virtuoso violinist is found murdered a few meters from Leonardo Da Vinci’s tomb, in a position reminiscent of Vitruvian Man, one of the artist’s most famous drawings. Captain of the Orleans research section, Alban Dutertre returns to his hometown, where he has not only good memories, to lead the investigation.

He teams up with Warrant Officer Bérénice Amarillo, fifteen years his junior, a brilliant but timorous policeman, who is struggling to get rid of the weight of an arrest that went wrong. Soon another murder takes place, still inspired by Leonardo Da Vinci. If they want to stop the murderer, Alban and Bérénice will have to solve an enigma worthy of those that the artist liked to build…

The forgotten of Amboisedirected by Sylvie Ayme and written by Isabelle Polin and Éric Delafosse.

With Philippe Bas, Pauline Bression, Edouard Montoute, Lucia Passaniti, François-Éric Gendron, Jean-Marie Winling, Olivier Chantreau…

What the press think…

According to Télé Loisirs:

This nth television thriller from peripheral France uses a hackneyed recipe. On the other hand, the choice to revive the spirit of Da Vinci is rather pleasant. We are rather stimulated by the resolution of enigmas worthy of the genius of the fifteenth century.” 3.5/5

According to Télé 7 Jours:

The soul of Leonardo da Vinci hovers over this mysterious investigation, well served by the entire cast. The freshness and reserve of Pauline Bression (Plus belle la vie) contrasts perfectly with the virile and effective playing of Philippe Bas. Another star of this fiction, the castle of Amboise, whose aerial views transport us.3/5

According to TV Star:

A series of murders inspired by the work of Leonardo da Vinci. The duo Philippe Bas and Pauline Bression (better known to fans of the Plus belle la vie series) leads an investigation strewn with enigmas. The result: an esoteric thriller that holds up.3/5

According to TV Cable Sat:

After a laborious start, this TV movie proves to be much more solid. If the decor of the castle is well highlighted, the plot based on the work of Da Vinci is less convincing.” 3/5

According to Telerama:

Everything here is sketched in broad strokes: the false twists, the plans of the city like the favorite Village of the French, the eternal relationship, a bit sexist and irritating, between a bruised old cop and a shy young first… Not to mention the acting… L’Oubliée d’Amboise remains a Murder in… moreover. Either an entertaining tourist thriller (in the second degree) and devoid of surprises.” 2.5/5
