The German manufacturer Advanced has designed a new electric bike, the Revolution Reco, which aims to reduce its carbon footprint during its manufacturing process. Its frame is also 100% recyclable.
Building electric bikes while respecting the environment and minimizing its CO2 emissions as much as possible: this is what the Advanced manufacturer has set as its objective with its Revolution Reco model, we learn eBike News. To do this, the firm from across the Rhine relies first of all on local production, based in Germany.
Then she uses plastic pellets in which “ we find 40% recycled carbon fiber from the automotive industry“, can we read. In addition, the group relies on an injection molding process. That is to say, the frame is formed in one piece. It does not go through the welding workshop to connect the components.
A less emitting bike
The choice of these components and this type of process would allow it to emit up to 68% less C02 than an aluminum frame made in Asia. AccordingeBike Newsthis type of frame would also have more advanced skills in terms of its ability to absorb shocks.
But above all, the frame of the Revolution Reco can be completely recycled: to do this, the company “must grind the used plastic pellets to then process them into a new frame or other components“. The frame of the model is however guaranteed for 30 years: the company therefore guarantees a reassuring longevity to its product.
Almost 5000 euros
In a more technical register, the Revolution Reco does not do half measures with a very solid technical sheet on paper: for example, the Bosch Performance Line CX motor and its torque of 85 Nm are what is best on the market. The user also has the choice between chain or belt transmission.
Same song on the battery side, where three configurations are offered: 500, 625 or 750 Wh. Finally, you have to rely on Shimano MT420 hydraulic disc brakes, a brake light and a rigid or suspended fork (a Suntour with 80 mm of travel). All at a price of 4699 euros, in an open or closed frame, as desired.
The Hummingbird Flax weighs only 10 kilos on the scale, which is a featherweight for an electric bike. This folder, however, targets elitist prices that exceed 5000 euros.
