A “projectile” hit a window on the third floor of the France Télévisions building, located in the 15th arrondissement of Paris, on Monday evening. A journalist from the culture department was inside but was not injured. An investigation for “attempted voluntary homicide” was opened.

An investigation for “attempted voluntary homicide” was opened by the Paris prosecutor’s office after the building of France Télévisions, in the 15th arrondissement of the capital, was targeted by a “projectile”. It reached a window in the office of a journalist from the culture department, who was still at the editorial office around 9 p.m., according to The Parisian.

Two detonations

No bullet was found but the window did have a star-shaped impact. “It is very unlikely that it is a firearm,” France Télévisions said in a statement. The journalist whose window was targeted agreed to tell Europe 1 what happened, without being recorded. He was alone at his desk, lit by his lamp. It was therefore visible from outside the building. He heard what he describes as a first shot, then a second. That’s when he got worried and ducked down as best he could. He then waited a little before going to give the alert.

France Télévisions lodged a complaint

He thinks it was not him who was personally targeted. Besides, he did not file a complaint, it was France Télévisions who did. That does not prevent him from being obviously turned upside down. He has also received many messages and calls for support, in particular from Delphine Ernotte, the president of France Télévisions.
