The Freebox Delta offer updated with the arrival of wifi 6E

The Freebox Delta offer is evolving at Free. More precisely, it is the Server (modem/router) which is entitled to a new version, the main novelty of which is the addition of a 6E wifi module for an improved wireless connection at home.

The Freebox Delta Server is evolving. Its novelty? The addition of wifi 6E, the latest generation of wireless network. The advantage of WiFi 6E is twofold: the technology enables even higher performance than that of WiFi 6 and — by exploiting the 6 GHz band — avoids the sometimes unavoidable congestion on the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands.

Of course, the new Server is able to offer a wifi network on these three frequency bands, in order to maintain maximum range and compatibility with all wifi devices thanks, in particular, to 2.4 GHz. Indeed, it should be noted that to benefit from the benefits of wifi 6 and 6E on the 5 and 6 GHz bands, it is necessary to be equipped with compatible computers, tablets or smartphones.

According to Free, wifi 6E makes it possible to reach download speeds of up to 2.5 Gb/s, i.e. three times faster than those observed on the first version of the Server in wifi 5. If, of course, the best speeds will be observed on Free’s 10G-Epon fiber sockets (27 million are deployed in France), Free announces that xDSL subscribers will also be able to benefit from the new Server with wifi 6E.

Available today for all new subscribers to the Freebox Delta (€39.99 per month for one year then €49.99 per month, with Player Pop), the Server wif 6E of the Freebox Delta offer can be ordered during the summer by current subscribers who will be asked to pay the price of a “Server exchange”, charged at €49.
