Free has added 50 TV by Canal channels and services to its Freebox Ultra Essential offer. Enough to make the alternative proposition and less expensive than the Ultra offer even more attractive.
We say to ourselves that Free perhaps felt that he was missing something, attention to detail no doubt. Now Xavier Niel’s operator has decided to add a little content(s) to its Freebox Ultra Essential offer, barely a month after its marketing. Free has integrated the TV by Canal service into the package, which includes 50 channels, but also access to replay, an undeniable advantage which could make the difference.
The Freebox Ultra Essential offer was not up to par
Until a few days ago, the Freebox Ultra Essential offer stood out above all for the qualities of the main Freebox Ultra offer (speeds, technology, ports), without the gigantic entertainment part, which includes services like Netflix and Disney+ with advertising, as well as Prime Video or even Universal+ at no additional cost.

Without these services, the Freebox Ultra Essential offer loses its charm, but above all it is cheaper: 39.99 euros/month for one year then 49.99 euros, compared to 49.99 euros/month for twelve months then 59, 99 euros/month for the Freebox Ultra.
Except that at around 10 euros, the Ultra version is still much more advantageous than the Ultra Essential offer. It is therefore likely that the operator’s customers have decided to turn more towards the most expensive offer, which may nevertheless prove economical. So, to reach more people and increase the rating of the Freebox Ultra Essentiel, the operator decided to boost it with content.
The TV by Canal service (Eurosport, Paris Première, Disney Channel, etc.) added at no extra cost!
The Freebox Ultra Essential offer has been welcoming TV by Canal for a few days now, at no additional cost. The box’s TV offering therefore increases from 230 to 280 TV channels included (as for the so-called “classic” Freebox Ultra).
Remember that TV by Canal is a service that includes 50 channels, practical in that it allows you to watch its content on all screens (computer, television, tablet and smartphone), live or in replay. Among the main TV by Canal channels, we find Eurosport, Disney Channel, National Geographic, Téva, Comédie+, Ushuaïa, Canal J and Paris Première.
However, the Canal+ channels (Canal+, Canal+ Sport, Canal+ Foot, Canal+ box office etc.) are not included. You will therefore have to pay a little more if you want to get them. Perhaps you will find your limit here.
