Like always highly anticipated, the Freebox V9, the next box from the operator owned by Xavier Niel, is revealed with a new clue, which perhaps tells us more about its potential release date. A proper teaser.
In recent months, Free has multiplied the clues on the launch of its next Freebox V9, until finally confirming a release before the end of the year. If we are to believe a tweet published on the Perhaps you will find another solution to this riddle.
Free may have teased the announcement date of its next Freebox
The X/Twitter account of the Free Centers, the operator’s stores, posted a post early this Tuesday morning, captioned with a very simple “Soon…”. The tweet is accompanied by a photo of a Freebox Delta, which the V9 should in theory succeed, in terms of positioning.
We understand, through this little post on the X network, that we are dealing with a real tease of the Freebox V9. The whole question is therefore to interpret it. The time indicated on the Delta appearing in the photo adds to the mystery and calls out: “91:22”. This Freebox is slightly derailed, right? Several interpretations are in any case possible.
The 91:22 displayed could mean that V “9” will be released in January (“1”) on Monday “22”? This hypothesis is the most dominant, even if Free has gotten into the habit of making Tuesday its announcement day, and not Monday. Is a change in custom to be expected?
A release hoped for in early 2024 for the Freebox V9
Among other interpretations, some see it as a countdown counter: 91:22. By calculating from the time of publication of the message, this would give us officialization around 2 a.m., on the night of Saturday December 15 to Sunday December 16, 2023. We might as well brush aside this second hypothesis straight away. Perhaps V “9” will then be marketed on February “12” (“2”) 2024, if we trust the order of the numbers on the clock?
We are not hiding from you that at this stage, we are leaning more towards a potential announcement on January 22, 2024, with marketing the next day, January 23? We leave you to your predictions.
The Freebox V9 is expected in that it could allow subscribers to switch to a model equipped with Wi-Fi 6E (and why not Wi-Fi 7?), without forgetting the probable addition of an Ethernet port greater than 2 .5 Gbps.
