The French Football Federation files a complaint for attempted corruption

The French Football Federation (FFF) lodged a complaint against X after female first division (D1) players were contacted over corruption attempts. “The FFF has lodged a complaint, in fact, after being alerted by clubs like Montpellier”, explained a spokesperson for the Federation, confirming information from The team.

Players have received “Weird messages on social networks”, promising a sum of money in exchange for a match “Arranged”. The sports daily mentions the sum of 100,000 euros in cryptocurrency.

“The players had the right reflex, they followed what was advised to them during training on corruption attempts: they alerted their clubs, who sent us back the information”, said the FFF. According to The team, these corruption attempts also concern championships in Germany, Belgium or the Netherlands.
