The fourth week of the LCS, the North American League of Legends championship, begins this Friday at 11:30 p.m. French time and it’s time to take a first look at the performance of the French across the Atlantic. They are two to have joined North America during the transfer window, Loïc “toucouille” Dubois (FlyQuest) and Steven “Hans sama” Liv (Team Liquid) arrived with very different expectations. The first is a rookie taking his first steps in a major league while the second comes with the label of the best player in his position in the West and able to compete with the world’s best.
Even if it is difficult for French spectators to follow the performances of our two Frenchies since their meetings are played during the night, the few fans who do so were dazzled by their performances. In effect, both are performing very well and their two teams are tied for the lead in the championship with five wins and one loss. If the presence of Team Liquid and Hans-Sama at the top of the ranking is not surprising, that of toucouille and Fly Quest is no longer.
The 2021 LFL Spring Split MVP may not have faced the league’s most feared teams but he still managed to beat pillars of North American esports, TSM and 100 Thieves. What’s more, the Frenchman has been repeatedly praised by fans by being awarded two game MVPs and a player of the week title last weekend. To see if he manages to continue this momentum this week with meetings which promise to be disputed against Evil Geniuses, Immortals and Cloud9.
On his side, Hans-Sama manages to be solid on his botlane despite all the hazards encountered since the start of his season. If he managed to win the LCS Lock-In with Team Liquidhe only played two official matches with his supporters, Jo “CoreJJ” Yong-in. The latter had difficulties in obtaining a Green card and could not play the first matches. Imperturbable as ADC, Hans Sama wants win his first championship title this season and participate in the Mid-Season Invitational for the first time in his career. First of all, it goes through this relatively affordable fourth week with Golden Guardians, Dignitas and TSM on the program.

We hope that the season will continue like this for the two Frenchmen and find them in the LCS final on April 24.
