From this date, all users who have opted for this subscription will have to switch to another formula to continue to benefit from the catalog. So will Friends & Family subscribers have to pay for a new subscription? Not necessarily. Indeed, Microsoft does not intend to leave them on the straw and announces that codes for the Ultimate formula will be sent to those concerned, both to the owner of the account and to his relatives attached to the formula. However, the account must still be active on August 15, 2023 to be eligible.
This code, of course, will not work unlimited. Thus, its validity will be indexed to the time remaining in the Friends & Family subscription at the time of closing. Here is the duration of subscription that will be offered to you according to your situation.
- Less than a month left : 3 months free to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate
- Between 1 and 2 months remaining : 6 months free to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate
- Between 2 and 5 months remaining : 1 year free to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate
- Between 5 and 10 months remaining : 2 years free for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate
- More than 10 months left : 3 years free for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate
